Our commitment
This website is run by Compass Immigration Law Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. Many of our clients read English as a second or third language, so the site is written in plain English, set in typefaces chosen for readability, and body text never drops below 16 pixels on any screen.
The standard we build to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:
- You can navigate the whole site with a keyboard, including the menus. Nothing traps your focus, and the Escape key closes anything that opens.
- Every page has one clear heading structure, and every image carries a text description.
- Text and background colours meet or exceed the required contrast ratios.
- Frequently asked questions are readable without JavaScript - answers are in the page, not loaded afterwards.
- The site respects your system’s reduced-motion setting: with it enabled, animations are switched off and nothing is hidden.
- Links and buttons are large enough to use comfortably on a phone.
Known limitations
- Some services we link to - secure document upload, our matter intake form and invoice payment - are run by third parties, and their accessibility is outside our direct control. If any of them causes you difficulty, contact us and we will take your details another way.
- Our explainer videos carry captions. Where a transcript is not yet available for an older video, we will provide one on request.
Tell us if something is hard to use
If any part of this site is difficult to use, or you need information from it in another format, contact us at info@compasslaw.org.uk or on 01204 531 535 and we will help. We treat accessibility problems as defects and fix them.
